Town Hall Title: Evolving prioritization of carbon cycle science by the US Government
Date/Time: Monday, December 9, 2013 from 6:15 PM to 7:15 PM

Town Hall Abstract:

The Carbon Cycle Interagency Working Group (CCIWG), through its US Carbon Cycle Science Program, develops & prioritizes research themes & coordinates activities based on emerging scientific advances, community input, USGCRP Strategic Plan goals & evolving US science & technology priorities. This town hall will address this prioritization process, soliciting queries & implementation ideas from the global carbon cycle science community.

More details:

Program Managers from the CCIWG and the US Carbon Cycle Science Program Office Staff will incorporate aspects of the 2011 US Carbon Cycle Science Plan, the 2012-2022 US Global Change Research Program Strategic Plan, President Barack Obama's Climate Action Plan and other U.S. government wide documents and processes that help shape different current and evolving themes in federally funded US Carbon Cycle Science research. We will also be addressing current and near-term research funding foci and will seek questions and feedback from the audience.
